After graduating from Niagara College of Applied Arts and Technology with a Marketing Management diploma in 1991, he went on to a career in media including time spent in radio and print as a sales representative.
Larry then decided it was time to take the leap and start his own weekly newspaper and monthly business magazines. He teamed up with two partners and developed The Weekly Chronicle, and Home and Office Computing into profitable ventures. Home and Office Computing further evolved into a franchise expanding from as far as British Columbia to Toronto, and grew from a monthly circulation of 25,000 to 250,000.
Recently he started his own firm, Trigger Marketing Works, which focuses on helping small and medium sized companies find and keep more profitable customers through the use of better communication and strategy. Betty Ann Baker, Niagara Peninsula Homes
Betty Ann is the executive director of Niagara Peninsula Homes, a resource group that has developed over 2700 units of non-profit and co-operative housing in Niagara and Hamilton and currently manages over 1200 units of housing in Niagara; Betty Ann and some of her colleagues started Niagara Presents, which is a collective of women marketing under one label, a co-packing facility and a retail and gift basket outlet promoting and using local produce when in season.. She was honored as one of Chatelaine magazine’s Women of the Year in 2000 for her work and was also given the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation’s award in 2002 for Outstanding Contribution to Co-op Housing. The not-for-profit Niagara Peninsula Homes, which is the principal shareholder of the new venture Niagara Presents. Betty Ann was instrumental in the creation of Niagara Women’s Enterprise Centre that provides sector based skills training to unemployed and underemployed women in Niagara. Given her love of Psychology, Counselling, Research and Teaching, Brenda decided to pursue a long-term goal of achieving her PhD in Clinical Psychology at Fielding Graduate University in California.Currently on leave from her academic program, she is teaching a variety of courses at Niagara College and coordinating an employment/training program for women who are survivors of physical and emotional abuse.
